As a former homeless single mother, Yvette is very familiar with the feeling of hopelessness. She found haven at Alpha House of Tampa where her passion to help other struggling mothers was ignited.

Yvette has a strong belief in education being a key factor in ending homelessness and poverty. She completed her Associates degree at Hillsborough Community College and decided to continue to pursue her Bachelor’s of Social Work at the University of South Florida. After graduating, she landed a position at ALPHA House of Pinellas as a Case Manager.

In the Case Manager role, Yvette constantly sought ways to make the transition from homelessness to stability more fluid. She also developed a relationship with each client and their child. During that time, she continued her educational studies and completed her M.S. in Nonprofit Management and Leadership.

In her current position, she continues to seek ways to improve whether personally or a program level to ensure the best outcomes for the clients. Her insatiable appetite for knowledge continues as she is currently a phD student in Public Policy and Administration.
