Kayla Hobbs is the Director of Residential Programs at ALPHA House of Pinellas County.
Growing up in a small town, Kayla saw early on the struggles that a family could go through as she watched friends and classmates struggle with the possibility of homelessness and being hungry. Fortunately, her family lived in a small town where everyone helped each other out. Kayla knew she wanted to be able to help people at a young age as her little town instilled that value in her.
Having family members who are veterans, she wanted to assist the veteran community. She was lucky enough to intern, while pursuing her master’s in social work, at James A. Haley VA in Tampa, where she was able to work with homeless women specifically. That is where her passion for homeless women blossomed.
As she has worked at ALPHA, Kayla has grown to care for each and every client and loves to work with the teen moms as well as the young mothers and their babies.
